#23campaign

May is National Foster Care Month. It’s a time to recognize that we can each play a part in enhancing the lives of those
23campaignbloginvolved in foster care.

In Milwaukee County alone there are over 2300 children currently in foster care with an average of about 100 new children entering care each month!

One of the ongoing projects we do is our placement bags for kids just entering care. Since we have started we have provided more than 2500 placement bags in multiple counties for children entering foster care.

For $23 you can provide a placement bag for a child who is just entering care and who was likely unable to take very little to nothing of their own. Our placement bags bring a smile to the face of these children and their foster families and gets them through that first day and night. The small bags filled with clothes and PJ’s, undergarments, socks and a toothbrush do so much to show hope on an otherwise very scary day for these children.

The #23campaign will run through our social media outlets for 23 days in May. Each day there will be a statistic that we share to help raise awareness about the children in care and the need associated with that. There will also be options to get involved by giving financially to our placement bag project. Our goal in addition to raising awareness is to raise at least $2300 to go towards more placement bags for more children entering foster care.
