The season of giving

Christmas time is here, and if you ask me, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year! It’s the Christmas trees, and cards, the music, bundling the kids so much they can barely move, making hot chocolate and taking a drive to look at Christmas lights. It’s the Christmas lists and buying that perfect gift that you know will make a loved ones face light up. It’s opening up a Christmas gift of your own and being reminded of how much you are loved by friends and family. It is celebrating the birth of our Savior and being forever grateful for His selflessness and eternal love for us!

The gift of Jesus so many years ago is why we give today, because God gave us the ultimate gift, we are compelled to give to others. This season OneHope27 has been both on the giving and receiving ends of this. Some of our board members have adopted families involved in the foster care system to sponsor for Christmas. These are families working hard to rebuild who would go without gifts this year if it were not for the generosity of others. It is our pleasure to help make “Christmas” happen for them this year!

We have been blessed by amazing support from the community for our mission to FOSTER hope. Many great bakers donated some delicious pies to help make our first fundraiser a great success. A local business put together a clothing drive to donate for kids in foster care that filled a 16 passenger van 2 times over! A local church adopted our service project as their own for an advent event and donated some of the most adorable little pajamas, and outfits, and blankets, and teddy bears as well as monetary support.

Next we had a local photographer put together a mini session special just for us, with a large portion of her proceeds being donated to our mission to FOSTER hope!  There are still sessions available for this and if interested you can contact katiefromsteinphotography@yahoo.com.

All of us at OneHope27 are extremely grateful for those who have partnered with us this year. We are also thankful for the opportunity to give and to equip the Christian community to impact the foster care system with the hope of Christ!

Merry Christmas,

Charonne Ganiere
President
