My Daddy Can Fix It

Recently while attending our bi-monthly playgroup, my 3yr old daughter found a broken toy and brought it to me saying “It’s broken my Daddy can fit it”. This is certainly not the first time I’ve heard her say this. She has been blessed with a loving, involved, handy Father.

My daughter’s Daddy has fixed many things for her like putting together her new big girl bed, and building her Christmas gift that came with more parts than a set of Lego’s, and tightening her handle bars on her bike. He has also fixed things for her by holding her tense and terrified little body after she wakes up from a scary dream, and by kissing her while wiping away her tears when she trips and scrapes her knee.

I am eternally grateful for this man, my husband, who is an amazing, often sacrificially involved and present Daddy!

This love they share, this belief that her Daddy can fix every problem she faces is a tangible example of our Heavenly Father’s Love. LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. Psalm 30:20. Our Heavenly Daddy can fix anything, but how often do we bring our broken pieces to him?

It hasn’t been an easy road for our little girl, and new challenges seem to push their way to the surface all the time. There are moments where healing seems hopeless, – daunting at best. Then I hear my 3yr old daughter say “my Daddy can fix it” and I know she is right!
